Easy pickin's are over, at least for awhile

Picking has dropped off considerably. If you are coming from a long ways and/or expecting to pick 10s of lbs, we encourage you to wait for the unripe varieties to ripen (I don't know when that will be). If you are looking for a bucket, you can find them but you have to work the rows that are more overgrown and lift up the low branches and look under. The easy picking is over until the later varieties turn blue.

When do you expect the next bunch to be ready?

It is really hard to say. Blueberries don't ripen as predictably as strawberries, unfortunately. Probably what will happen is that the ripening progress over the course of the work week, when there are fewer pickers, will get mostly cleaned out on the weekends. There will not be another banner day where one can pick 20 or more lbs in an afternoon. If we do get a quick ripening, I will surely post.
