Now We are Closed for the Season!

Berries are picked out and what little were left were frozen by the hard freeze/frost we had last night. All done, kaput, stick-a-fork-in-it, whatever. Thanks for your patronage.

Let's Lumber to the Finish Line: Sept. 15th

We are going to call it quits for the season as the sun sets on Wednesday, September 15th. Pickers are still grabbing a pail or two in an hour or two. After we close for the regular season, if you are desperate to pick, feel free to call the rest of September and arrange to come out and pick for yourself. You may find pockets of late-ripening berries. Thanks for your help in a great harvest. I'll report the numbers in an October posting.

Not always sure what is going in the patch.

Still must be berries. Heard 3 pickers, all women, picking (and gabbing/giggling) into the late evening last night. Later, after dark, I noticed a vehicle parked with its lights aimed at the weigh station and went out to investigate. Same 3 women, they picked 10-11 lbs each and were just giddy about it. They claimed that there were lots of berries. They were making noise to keep animals (specifically "cougars") away. I suspect they were smoking something and plan to investigate in the daylight...
